Nilton Lins University

NILTON LINS has its headquarters in the city of Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas, located in the North of Brazil. Universidade Nilton Lins is part of the educational complex installed in an area of ​​1,000,000 m², founded in 1988 by Professor Nilton Costa Lins, administrator, lawyer and essentially an educator. Its headquarters are located in the city of Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas, where it has two campuses: Parque das Laranjeiras and Japiim.

 

In May 2011, with only 23 years of existence, the accreditation of  NILTON LINS University took place, through the transformation of the Centro Universitário Nilton Lins, according to Ordinance N. 575, of May 13, 2011, published in the DOU of 16 May 2011. The University is one of the most important higher education institutions in Northern Brazil.

Equipped with privileged physical facilities, in an area of ​​1,000,000 m2, it is installed in functional buildings, with more than 600 classrooms, specialized research laboratories, including an experimental farm, auditoriums, one of which is the largest in the city, with capacity for 4000 people; free areas; sports complex; libraries, with a collection of over 100,000 books. Based on its Mission: Educating the Amazon, the institution follows its educational path, with a strong commitment to the region in which it operates.

 

NILTON LINS offers courses in all areas of knowledge, in line with regional demands and essential interaction with the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), the main economic reference in the State of Amazonas and the second industrial center in the country, after São Paulo .

 

The history of the institution is intertwined with the evolution of higher education in recent years in Amazonas, since this institution trained the first physiotherapists, nutritionists, speech therapists in Manaus, having contributed to the establishment of new concepts of quality of life: like the Engineers who study the environment from an eminently Amazonian perspective and Doctors who specialize in endemic diseases in our region. The professionals who graduated from NILTON LINS UNIVERSITY contribute, therefore, in a decisive way to the construction of a better society, coherent with the established institutional mission.
