ESPM - Higher School of Advertising and Marketing

ESPM was born in 1951, when a group of publicists and media entrepreneurs, led by Rodolfo Lima Martensen, supported by the then director of Masp, Pietro Maria Bardi and the legendary Assis Chateaubriand, had the vision that only with a school of excellence would we have in Brazil a strong and developed communication industry.

It was from the greatness of this ideal of our founders that ESPM was created, by the market and for the market. The school in which, since always, “Teaches who does it”.

Over the years under the direction of Martensen, Hugo Scherb, Francisco Gracioso, Luiz Celso de Piratininga and José Roberto Whitaker Penteado, ESPM has reached the present day with campuses in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, about 15,000 students and 600 professors, 8 undergraduate, postgraduate, masters and doctorate courses.

Conceived by the Brazilian Heraldry and Humanistic Society in 2011 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of ESPM, the Coat of Arms conveys the academic status conquered by ESPM in communication, marketing and management, due to its ability to prepare professionals with an ethical and leadership, imbued with the responsibility of contributing to the development of society and companies in Brazil and abroad.

Avant-garde school, pioneer and recognized as a national reference, ESPM is also an experienced organization like the other traditional international educational institutions, a merit achieved thanks to its actions that go beyond the classroom.
