WIGATI’23 - ​WINE, GASTRONOMY AND TOURISM INNOVATION

 

Global tourism is growing fast. Hence, there is enormous competition between tourist destinations and intangible cultural heritage has a local and regional role, unique and preponderant in attracting tourists. It is here that Wine, Gastronomy, Tourism and Innovation can come together to jointly enhance, stimulate, diversify and promote local and regional economic development, boosting the potential of the primary sector with technological innovation.

The World Tourism Organization defines Gastronomic Tourism as a type of tourist activity characterized by the visitor's experience linked to food and related products and activities during the trip. Wine Tourism, in turn, is considered a subtype of Gastronomic Tourism associated with tourism aimed at visiting wineries, vineyards, sector events and tasting, consuming and/or purchasing wine and/or sparkling wine, which in many cases can be carried out at the producer's own facilities and/or in the region of origin.

The WIGATI'23 session aims at the presentation of papers, in a scientific context, that allow to innovate, explore and combine Tourism and Technology with the potential that Wine and Gastronomy have in the cultural and intangible heritage.

 

 

Submission and Decision

Papers written in English (up to 10 pages) must follow the formatting rules of the Proceedings in Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies series (see Instructions for authors on the Springer website / Word template).

Papers written in Spanish or Portuguese (up to 10 pages) should follow the Thomson Reuters format.

The version of these papers for evaluation by the Scientific Committee, saved in PDF format, should not include identification, e-mail and affiliation of the authors. This information should be available only in the camera-ready version of the accepted papers, saved in Word or Latex format and also in PDF format.

These files must be accompanied by the completed Instructions for Publication in a ZIP file and uploaded to the conference upload system.

Publication and Indexing

Papers written in English and accepted and registered will be published in Proceedings by Springer in a book of the series Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies and will be submitted for indexing by ISI, EI-Compendex and SCOPUS, among others, and will be available in the SpringerLink Digital Library.

Articles written in Spanish or Portuguese and accepted and registered will be published in the Journal of Tourism & Development (ISSN: 1645-9261; e-ISSN: 2182-1453), an open access journal indexed in SCOPUS, Qualis (Brazil), Publindex (Colombia).
